I feel privilege being a photographer and see things like this and record them because I feel like I'm seeing history and seeing something that it wouldn't be here for the next generation. What I love here in Agra is this feeling that things haven't change much here in the last thousand years or so.. I like sitting in the corner and watching the world go by with women in viels over their head, interesting faces and beautiful colors. What hasn't change is the people, the faces and that's what turns me on.

Inside Taj Mahal, I saw this man sitting alone while waiting for his friends to come back. I find it very interesting, I took several shots of him in discreet manner...

Few months ago was my first time to join the contest, and luckily I was able to made it and got the Accolade of Excellence for 1st half 8x10 comeptition, which simply means that Filipino work of art are recognize not only locally but also globally, and it inspires me alot.

It was FUN, that’s how I described our Engagement shoot-out with Martin and Edvie, this guys are both awesome. We have our first stop in Liloan, then we headed to JJC Farm in Compostela owned by Edvie’s Uncle. As I Prepared my gears, I was a bit worried as the rain falls, but good thing is it didn’t take that long. While the couple are preparing their clothes, I’m also busy finding nice spot around the farm, I found this old Benz, best for our vintage concept, and additional bonus is there’s this Big Horse, I know Edvie and Martin is excited to ride with it. My plan is just to spend 30mins there in the farm, but when I saw the whole place, it's really good location, perfect for my plan, so we stayed there for over an hour. Our final location is Alegre, around one hour and a half drive from the City, the resort is very beautiful, It’s very Romantic and again perfect place for prenup shoot-out.

Sinulog 2010 Awards Night

Last Wednesday, 7:58 a.m. I received a call from a strange number 254-5010. As I answer my phone while driving, I was surprise by her announcement, as she says "hello jaypee good morning this is Dolly from Sinulog Foundation, I'm happy to tell you that you've won the 2nd and 10th prize for the Contingent Category of Sinulog 2010 Photo Contest." From that minute, I kept on screaming, with a tears of joy, I never expected that I'll grab a prize over 1500 photographers, and more than 20,000 entry photos to be judge only in one day.
As I remember, during the Sinulog, my day started around 5.30 in the morning, I took a cup of coffee and a piece of bread as I prepared my gears, drove up going to the city.My plan is to be in the place early so I can get a good lighting... My winning piece was taken around 7.30am, One of the contingent made their first dance, I said to myself "this is it", I position my ladder, with my 5dm2 and 70-200 2.8. i.s at my right shoulder and 40d mounted with 300mm 2.8 at my left, I made a few test clicks with 5d, Luckily those 2 first clicks won the prize for the contigent category...
I thank the Good Lord for the talent he gave to me. I'm sharing to you guys the photos that I've won, and some pictures during the awards night last Saturday, with my friends from Images Camera club...

Sinulog 2010

Sinulog is a dance ritual in honor of the miraculous image of the Santo Nino. The dance moves to the sound of the drums and this resembles the current (Sinulog) of what was then known as Cebu’s Pahina River. Thus, in Cebuano, they say it’s Sinulog. It is my 7th year to cover the Sinulog Festival, and still the passion and excitement remains as it is like my first time to shoot. I'm posting some of my fave photos... Viva Pit Senyor...

I've first met Emong and Liz, June of last year through a referral of my previous client. I can still remember the place on where we've met, it's in Mc Donald Jones. They asked me if I can be there official wedding photographer. But then after a couple of weeks, Liz called me up telling me that there wedding will be postponed due to Jerome's call of Duty, he needs to be assigned in Vietnam for almost one year for a training. After a long wait, there most awaited day has come, finally Emong and Liz tied there knot at the Alliance of Two Hearts yesterday 28th of October 2009. Though, they both waited for almost one year, the excitement is still there, they're both cooperative with our pictorials, same with their funny groomsmen and gorgeous bridesmaids. Hi everyone, I've got something to share with you this early Monday Morning. Yesterday, was the big day of my client Robert and Sugar, I've first met them about a month ago, with the referral of Mr. Bong Abela the owner of the great Koncepts and More, and finally on the 25th day of October 2009 Robert and Sugar tied there knot at the Metropolitan Cathedral. The ceremony is so Solemn, the coordination went really good, and thanks God the weather was perfect. After the ceremony, we headed to Waterfront Hotel for the Reception... The heavy rain last tuesday last week is a blessing in disguise. My e-session with Robert and Sugar was postponed yesterday, and it was a perfect day for us. Weather is good, the sun shines... We've met up at JY square around 9a.m. but we're able to depart around 9:45a.m. since we still have to wait Franz as the cinematographer. Our first stop is island in the sky, around an hour drive from the city. Going there is breath taking, I saw the flower plantation, the scenery of beautiful and color-full flowers is priceless. I've talk with one of the planters, and she told me they're going to harvest the flowers next week, we're just lucky we're able to experience the beauty of their plantation. After reaching the island in the sky, we headed to Cebu'sfamous landmark TOPS, then from there, we went to Mactan beach, since my client likes a scenery along the beach also... My day ended up as another great experience , because for me everytime I cover e-session, I always think it as opportunity, opportunity to share my ideas and my work of art. Finally, after there wedding plan was postponed last year due to call of duty, Jerome and Liz will now tie their knot this coming October... We've done their prenup pictorial yesterday, we headed to the South of Cebu where the famous Mantuyapan Falls was located. The place is so beautiful, the falls is so nice, it makes us feel relax after 1 hour of travel from the city. To Jerome and Liz Congratulations and Best Wishes... JAYPEE PHOTOGRAPHY

A Day after my wedding shootout with Hanz and Shiela last Tuesday, My team "Lightwave" a.k.a. YOUNG GUNS, headed to Tagbilaran to have a post-nup shoot-out with Cio and Val. Cio fetch us up at the pier around 9a.m. with his new and shiny Yellow Picanto. At 11 a.m. we made our way to Baclayon Church as our First stop, the place is very well mentained, then from there, we went to Alburquerque Church, then we take our lunch break back in Tagbilaran...

For our third stop-over, we went to Maribujoc Church, then went back to Cortes Sto. Nino Parish. From Cortes, we traveled around 20k.m. going to Dauis Church as our 5th chruch, from Dauis we went back again to Tagbilaran to visit the The Cathedral as 6th location, and for the final and 7th location we made it at Our Lady of Lourdes Church... We really had a great Wednesday 09.09.09, I'll never forget that experience. To Cio and Val, Congratulations. You're both awesome... Keep on loving!!!
